Princess Cookies & Cake Pops

These dress cookies were a repeat design from a previous The Little Mermaid-themed party celebration. Thank goodness I didn't have to individually wrap & tie these with a fancy ribbon this time! The cookies are vanilla-lemon sugar cookies, decorated to look like Rapunzel, Elsa, Cinderella & Anna's dresses using a combination of fondant, royal icing and a little glitter.

Please pardon the really poor lighting in these pics, as they were taken pretty late at night (or early in the morning, depending on how you look at it! #teamnosleep), and I happen to have really bad yellow lighting.

My favourite way to box up cookies for transport, is to use pizza boxes! They're nice and wide, but not tall as regular cake boxes are. Cookies are flat anyway, so putting them in tall cake boxes means that all that extra height would just be wasted! I put a cake board underneath the cookies for added support.

I also got to make cake pops for this celebration. These were strawberry cake pops, dipped in white chocolate, dyed using candy oil. Please do check out my cake pops basics page on how to make cake pops from scratch!

The fancy Elsa, Rapunzel, Snow White & Ariel paper toppers were printed by Sugarena. I can't imagine having to cut out all those little details with a pair of scissors, especially the princess' dainty fingers! They are stuck onto the cake pop stick with a little bit of thicker-consistency royal icing.
