Happy 53rd Birthday, Singapore! |
It hasn't been easy garnering 2k followers, which I know is really just a handful in comparison to many many talented bakers out there that command follower numbers upwards of hundreds of thousands!! If you have any tips to share on how to increase the number of organic followers, please do share! Cuz I'd really love to know. There are lots of sites out there offering "real followers" for a small fee, but that is not the route that I want to take.
how many Singapore flags do you see? |
Anyway, back to the cakesicles! They are funfetti cake pops, baked right in a silicone mini popsicle mould. I prefer making cakesicles to cake pops, cuz you skip having to make cake pop "dough". You know, crumbling cake, mixing it with buttercream, and then having to mould that cake pop dough into the proper shape.

To get the right colours, the cakesicles were first double-dipped in white chocolate, and then the top half was dipped in red chocolate. I cut out the cresent moon shape out of fondant with the back of a large and medium-sized piping nozzle, and used a small plunger cutter for the fondant stars. I used some of the melted red chocolate to attach the moon and stars onto each cakesicle.

A big congratulations to @irissng for winning the 2k Giveaway. Here are some photos from her IG of her cute son enjoying the cakesicles! Not sure if he managed to save a couple for the 9th of August, to have on Singapore's 53rd birthday ;) Happy National Day, Singapore!
