Farm Animal cupcakes |
The cupcakes were a mix of vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes, frosted with Swiss meringue buttercream. I had the perfect red gingham patterned cupcake liners for this farm theme, thanks to the Christmas baking loot from my mom!
4 types of animals came out to play |
To decorate the cupcakes, I made both 2D faces and 3D fondant figurines to add variety and make things more interesting. The birthday family's Chinese zodiac signs were dog, horse and rooster, so I made sure to include those animals and some sheep in the mix.

All the cookies were basically round in shape, but they were easily decorated to the same 4 animals just by changing up the colours and details! My favourite were the sheep cookies, with their white wool coats, heart-shaped noses and glittery rosy cheeks.

I also made pink and yellow jelly cups, in pandan and coconut layers. Agar-agar jelly is much more stable at room temperature in the tropics compared to Jell-O, which tends to liquefy even in air conditioning!

To round off the desserts, I made fudge brownie bites, drizzled with ooey gooey Nutella and sprinkled with pink and white nonpareils. I had pink and white mini liners in stock to place each brownie bite in too!

All these yummy desserts went on this pink farm-themed dessert table, styled by My Sweet Secrets! I love how their style, with no two tables ever looking the same. The white picket fence and the sunflowers were a nice touch to the table! Here are a few pics of the setup, shared by My Sweet Secrets. Happy 1st Birthday, Ariel!
