Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

Ah Mickey. Curiously, after having done so many Mickey-themed cakes and desserts last year, these Mickey Cupcakes were the first Mickey-anything for this year! These Mickey Mouse cupcakes are chocolate cupcakes, frosted with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream, dyed bright red using Americolor Christmas Red gel paste.

I actually used a plain piping coupler without a piping tip at the end of it to get this fun "poop-style" swirl of frosting :P  The ears are mini Oreos and the buttons are yellow Reese's Pieces. I prefer using Reese's Pieces over m&m's cuz there are way more yellow candies in one bag of Reese's Pieces than there are in a bag of m&m's!
