Rainbow Tsum Tsum Dessert Table

So I'm still pretty addicted to playing the Tsum Tsum game on my phone. There's just something about trying to collet all the cute little characters and finish the Mission Bingo cards. So, when I got the opportunity to make all the desserts and cakes for a pastel rainbow Tsum Tsum-themed 1st birthday celebration, I was pretty excited!

Rainbow Tsum Tsum Dessert Table

The mummy requested for four Tsum Tsum characters (Mickey, Minnie, Pooh & Piglet) to be featured on the table. She had specially purchased authentic Tsum Tsum plush toys from Hong Kong Disneyland to add as props on the table! These cute little babies aren't cheap!

Pastel rainbow name cake pops

Anyway, I got to make cake pops, cookies, cupcakes, chocolate-covered Oreos, macarons and the birthday cake! The cake pops were chocolate cake pops, dipped in pastel coloured white chocolate, dyed with candy oil, with fondant letters spelling out the birthday boy's name. I DIY'd the cake pop stand, as usual. Learn how to make your own cake pop stand here

Hand-cut Tsum Tsum cookies!

For the fondant-decorated sugar cookies, I hand-cut Mickey, Minnie, Pooh & Piglet, since I didn't have cookie cutters for these special Tsum Tsum shapes. The technique used to make the rainbow with cloud cookie is described here

Since it was a rainbow party, of course, I had to make rainbow cupcakes! I dyed the vanilla cupcake batter five colours, and used a piping bag to layer each colour in the white cupcake liners. This is so that here are nice neat rainbow stripes once the cupcakes bake up. If you aren't particular about have neat stripes, go ahead and just spoon in the batter! Remember to not over-fill the cupcake cases or you will end up with giant mushroom tops. The cupcakes are frosted with a a blue ruffley buttercream swirl, piped using a 2C nozzle, and decorated with a light sprinkling of rainbow nonpareils and a super cute Tsum Tsum paper topper designed by lovewithdetails.

The chocolate-covered Oreos were coated in pastel coloured white chocolate, in the same shades as for the cake pops.

love the polka dot washi tape!

assorted macarons

The macarons were all different pastel rainbow shades, with a different flavour for each colour! Normally I have a 10-macaron minimum per flavour, but I decided to spoil the birthday boy and fill these babies with green tea buttercream, lemon meringue, lime buttercream, smoked salted caramel, strawberry buttercream and dark chocolate ganache!

Finally, the cake! Both tiers were yummy Devil's Food Cake filled with whipped dark chocolate ganache. The cake is decorated with hand-cut fondant 2D Tsum Tsum characters, polka dots, clouds and topped with a very tall pastel rainbow.

love the sweet pastel rainbow colours

All our colourful desserts were put together on this super cute pastel rainbow Tsum Tsum dessert table, styled by lovewithdetails! I love the softness of the pastel colours and the fun backdrop! The polkadot washi tape was the perfect touch.

I liked simplicity and balance of the table set up, which allowed the cute and colourful bakes to speak for themselves. Lovewithdetails also designed the little gift card for the goodie bags. The mummy was so nice to give my son one, as he came with us for the set up. The bags are full of yummy sweets, including an original Tsum Tsum candy box and magic Tsum Tsum towel from Hong Kong Disneyland! Wishing baby boy Ayden a very happy 1st birthday!
