These pink cupcakes were for baby Emma's baby shower, aka her 1st month party. In Chinese culture, a "baby full moon" party is usually held to celebrate the baby's first month of life. Some people choose to hold the celebration after the first 100 days. In any case, the celebration is also for the mother, who may have been practicing "postnatal confinement" traditions which may mean that she hasn't left the house to see her friends, had a cold drink or even showered properly since the baby was born (yuck!!).
As interesting as confinement and baby full moon traditions are, we have to go back to the cupcakes! There were two flavours: strawberry cupcakes with strawberry Swiss meringue buttercream and vanilla cupcakes, frosted with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream, dyed pink of course!

For these medium-sized cupcakes, I managed to find nice boxes with clear tops so you can see the lovely cupcakes. Bonus that they came with cupcake inserts, which are super helpful (and necessary!) to prevent the cupcakes from rolling around and becoming a mess of frosting during transport!

The cupcakes were topped with these lovely baby shower-themed paper toppers, made by One and Only Gallery. Baby Emma's sweet baby shower dessert table was also put together by One and Only Gallery. I love the shades of pink. My fave things on the table are the cool personalized little drawers, with the letters of Emma's name on it in silver glittery paper and the white tree with pink bundles of chocolates hung on the branches!
