Sofia the First Cake

This mini 5" cake is for the birthday girl's small celebration at home with her family. It only feeds 4 - 6 people. I think Joyia is a very lucky girl to have had a Frozen cake to celebrate with her friends at school, and cake owl & elephant cake pops to give away to them as well!

The cake is a strawberry cake, filled with strawberry Swiss meringue buttercream, using fresh strawberry purée. It is a very yummy cake for strawberry-lovers! It is simple decorated using violet-dyed Swiss meringue buttercream, with rose swirls on top. I added a border of candy coated chocolate Sixlets around the rose swirls to make it more princess-y.

For the cake topper, I cut out an image of Princess Sofia on some photo paper, as well as a small "Birthday Princess" banner, and stuck it onto a drinking straw. To finish the cake off, I cut the birthday girl's name out of fondant and placed that on the front of the cake. Happy 4th birthday, Princess Joyia!
