Pug cake |
The cake is a vanilla butter cake, filled and frosted with layers of vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. No chocolate inside so that the little guy could have a couple of bites too!
To decorate, the cake was covered in black fondant, and then I added indentations and lines to make it more realistic, using a fondant veiner tool. His ears, nose, muzzle and eyes were straightforward to shape using the same black fondant.
I lightly brushed the eyes with a little bit of vegetable oil to give them shine, and added two white dots of fondant to give it life.
It's the first cake I've made for a dog! And I'm so happy that his mummy and daddy were pleased with how it turned out! Happy 2nd birthday to furkid Q'bin!
