Feryswork Aprons & Red Velvet Cupcakes

I was so eagerly awaiting the customized aprons that I ordered from Feryswork to arrive last month. Feryswork specializes in customized hand-stitched aprons, offering unique colour combinations and layouts according to your apron needs. It was timely that I got to know about them cuz I had planned my order just in time so that I'd get the aprons to wear to my first class at Charlissa Baking Studio! Sadly, Singpost had other things in mind. Weeks and weeks of patiently waiting but my aprons had not yet arrived!

After some investigation with Feryswork, we concluded that the package was probably too big to fit into my pigeon hole of a post box, and most likely they were taken (stolen!) since usually, when mail is too big or the address is wrong, the package will be rerouted back to the nearest post office branch for collection, or returned to the original sender, since the sender's address was also written on the package. Big fail by Singpost this time cuz the package containing my aprons vanished into thin air.

And so, I was sad that my order was lost, but also understood that it was out of Feryswork's hands so I didn't press for a refund. You win some, you lose some when you order online, as it goes.

But about a week later, I was happily surprised when Feryswork contacted me again, saying that they were in the process of remaking my order, and that it would be complimentary! Such generous customer service ! And this time, there would be no mistake sending it by regular post. It would be sent via registered mail and delivered to my doorstep!

Fast forward to late July, and I finally got my gorgeous aprons!! I love the "salted egg" blue, but I also love the white!! And they included extra straps for me as well. So so kind.  I couldn't wait to try them on, but of course, the girls wanted to try them on first! Feryswork also has kid-sized aprons available and I'm sorely tempted to get some for my monsters (I love the royal blue colour).

I whipped up some red velvet cupcakes frosted with cream cheese Swiss meringue buttercream as a thank you, cuz I think the best way for a baker to say thank you is through the stomach :D I customized some edible images with Feryswork's logo, and coated the back of the images with some white chocolate so that they would be stiff and be able to stand up on the cupcakes with the help of a toothpick.

Of course, I had to get a picture of the cupcakes with my brand-spanking new apron on! The weather has been brutal lately, a searing 37C+ and stiflingly humid. Had to be quick to take the photos under the blazing sun cuz the heat had started to melt the white chocolate on the toppers! Damn the tropics.
