Usually smash cake photoshoots are done before celebrating a baby's first birthday, so that the pics can be shared at the party. But in this case, I got to make little Aryssa's Garden Miffy birthday cake, a week before! Her parents decided to save the smash cake for her actual day birthday. Here's the giant cupcake smash cake I made for Aryssa, in sweet shades of mint green & peach, with a touch of gold.
The birthday girl's mummy sent me this pic of the tassels that she would be using as the backdrop for the smash cake photoshoot, for my reference.
The cupcake is a sugarless and eggless vanilla cake, frosted with sugarless fresh whipped cream. The cake has the soft texture and light fluffiness of regular cake, but tastes, well, very bland, cuz it has zero sugar in it! I guess the theory is that our kids have the rest of their lives to fill up on junk, so not letting them eat sugar so early in life is a good thing! And of course, it's good to have eggless cake options, cuz many people these days suffer from egg allergies, and with babies, one can never be too careful!

I used a large round piping nozzle for the cream for the cupcake "liner", and a 1M piping tip for the mint green roses. The name plaque and the number 1 topper were made out of fondant.

Aryssa's mummy did a great job styling the smash cake photoshoot session! Love how the cake matches so well with the tassels and the balloons, and the necklace that the baby is wearing!!

The best part was that Aryssa was in such a great mood! So smiley and eager to smash the cake! And smash the cake she did!! This is the best, most-smashed smash cake I've ever seen!! Many thanks to her mummy for sharing these fun pics!!
