The thing about making macarons, is that it's very rare that one doesn't end up with a few extra pieces after making a batch. Well, guess who has some leftover macarons from many many batches kicking around in her freezer? So, when it was the Children's Ministry group's turn to hold lunch after the Sunday morning masses, I glady volunteered macarons!
Assorted macarons |
Macarons can last a long long time in the freezer, a good six months or more! I busted out my assorted stash, packaged them nicely in groups of three and boom, off for sale after the Sunday morning masses, with all proceeds going to the church. All the assorted colours look so cool when they're packed all together!
looking good in their packaging! |
The organizer was skeptical at first, commenting that macarons are an "atas" (it means "high class" in Singlish) dessert and that nobody would go for them and could I made cupcakes or a butter cake instead? I was swamped and really could only contribute these macarons, so I said it's ok don't worry if nobody buys them, just give them out afterwards.
macarons, anyone? |
But the organizer didn't have to worry! These babies were snapped up in no time flat!! In fact, I should've made more. Haaaa. Everyone kept asking who made them! I am so glad they were well-received and that they put a smile on people's faces (instead of just kicking around in my freezer!!)
