Celebration Cake Pops

These "Celebrate Us" cake pops were for a Volunteers appreciation party for church leaders. The cake pops are red velvet cake, swirled with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. They were dipped in blue candy melts and white chocolate.

I painted some of the letters with gold luster dust, mixed with a little vodka, after attaching them onto the cake pops with a little melted chocolate. I didn't paint them before because the surface stays a little sticky after applying the gold coating. For the plain cake balls without letters, I added pink and yellow hearts to decorate them.

I wrapped the finished cake pops in cellophane and arranged them on a long 5" syrofoam log, cut in half length-wise. I wanted the stand to be long enough so the words could be read properly! One of the party organisers did one better and wrapped the styrofoam in nice blue paper and displayed the cake pops on a mini sweets table. I hope the party celebrants enjoy these little treats at their appreciation party. You guys deserve it!
