Super Mummy Cake |
He suggested something along the lines of super mummy, and having a "V" instead of an "S" for the Superman logo, cuz it's the birthday lady's initial. He left the rest of the cake up to me! In fact, he said cake, or cupcakes, or whatever. Lol.

I decided to go with a Supergirl theme, but use the colours purple and pink instead of the usual red and blue. The cake is a lychee sponge, filled with lychee-scented freshly whipped cream and bits of sweet and juicy lychees. I frosted the outside of the cake with light purple Swiss meringue buttercream, and then decorated it with a fondant "Super V" logo, and a yellow belt around the bottom edge.
Super "V" logo |
I had drawn the "Super V" logo free-hand on a piece of paper, and used that as a template to cut the fondant version out using a sharp Xacto knife.
To top the cake, I made a cute figurine of the birthday girl, wearing a the matching super hero costume, complete with mini "Super V" logo on her chest.
Hubby had planned a surprise dinner at Quentin's Restaurant. Love that place cuz it has great food, plus a small air-conditioned playground to keep the little kids entertained! I'm so happy to hear that the birthday girl and her family enjoyed the Super Mommy cake! Happy Birthday, Super Mummy V!
