Having done a completely different kind of Cars cake earlier this month, this Cars cake was for a joint birthday celebration for two brothers, celebrating their 1st and 4th birthday together. The cake was the ever-popular Devil's food cake, filled with whipped dark chocolate ganache.

I loved making all the small fondant details that went on this cake: the cacti, orange pylons, tires, rocks, street signs and clouds. Even the fondant "road" cake board was fun to make.

The racing flags, stop sign and road signs are edible icing images that I cut out and stuck onto fondant using a little water for glue.

The triangle racing flag bunting on top was from All Mommy Wants. I put the bunting on longer BBQ sticks so that they would stand tall on the cake and not flop over.

In addition to the cake, I got to make 2 dozen cake pops for the party. They were red velvet and chocolate cake pops, dipped in white chocolate dyed red and yellow with candy oil. I decorated half of them with smaller edible image racing flags.

The celebration was held at BOVE at Suntec City. The boys' mummy did up her own cake table and sent me some pics of the celebration. I am so glad that everyone enjoyed the cake, and the cake pops were gone in minutes! Happy birthday Devin & Rihaan!
