Happy 51st Birthday, Singapore

It's been a really busy week and I didn't get to take any orders for Singapore's National Day! Last year I got to make a giant Singapore flag cake. This year, just for fun, I made a few cookies with leftover dough and royal icing.

Happy 51st Birthday, Singapore!

We were lucky enough again to be able to watch the NDP rehearsals (twice!) so on the actual day, we thought we'd try and catch a glimpse of the fireworks from Marina Bay Sands. It was really hectic cuz we rushed over there late after having dinner. Parking was horrendous and I ended up just stopping the car on the side of the road and having a really crappy view of the fireworks! Oh well, still an adventure!

lots of NDP paraphernalia

Interestingly, a few days after National Day, I got to make fondant lettering, stars and moons for a Singaporean-Spanish interest group. They put the fondant deco on top of a store-bought cake and boom! they had themselves a cake fit to celebrate Singapore's Birthday. Muy Feliz CumpleaƱos, Singapur!
