Star Wars Wookiee Cookies

These gingerbread Wookiee cookies transported me right back to Christmas. Smells of ginger, cinnamon and clove wafted through my kitchen as these little guys were baking up. Christmas in February! I even used the same gingerbread man cookie cutter for these cookies that I did to make these gingerbread men over Christmas. 

Star Wars Wookiee Gingerbread Cookies

I used the back of a fork to lightly indent the cookies to make them look like Wookiee fur. The shoulder belts are made of black fondant, with white royal icing dots. The Wookiee faces are made out of fondant too. The tiny black dots for their eyes were cut out using the business end of a no. 2 round piping tip. So small! Everything was attached onto the cookie with a bit of water.

I wrapped them up nicely in cellophane bags because they were going in the goodie bags for the birthday boy's Star Wars themed party. Kinda makes me want to have a Star Wars party too!
