"Do you want to build a snowman? Do you want to go and play?" It's the song that all little girls are singing these days!
So when one of my besties asked me to do a cake for her daughter's Frozen-themed birthday party, I was sooo excited! And what to make but a 3D Olaf cake!?
But first, here's the invitation card, made using good ol' Powerpoint.
Six batches of chocolate cake later, here's Olaf! His head and body are made entirely out of devil's food cake, filled with chocolate buttercream and covered in fondant. His eyes are fondant too. His nose, buttons and feet are made out of rice krispie treats. His arms and hair are made out of dark chocolate fondant and flower wire... and he's about 2 ft tall!
Here's disassembled Olaf, in the trunk of the car, en route to the party! He looks funny without his carrot nose, eh?
And here's the party dessert table!! Buday is a super mom indeed! She MADE all those treats! The snowflake cookies, blue and purple jello cups, the osome macarons (whoo! Mad Mel's Macs!..hehe), the cake pops and the cupcakes!! This table was the ultimate sugar rush for the guests. The kids were bouncing off the walls in sugar heaven!
So, do you wanna build a snowman?? (& eat him too!)
Happy 3rd Birthday, Mireya!! |
