Lego Cake

A friend of a friend was having a Lego-themed birthday for her son. She was undecided about the design of the cake. All she said was she wanted a yellow Lego brick and an orange Lego brick. She wasn't going to be picky, as long as it looked good!

I thought a cake made of 2 Lego bricks would be a bit plain and I couldn't resist going a step further... so I made a Lego man head! He's made all out of chocolate cake and filled with chocolate buttercream. I added a fondant "5" in the same look as the Lego-style name to complete the cake. He's pretty hefty too and probably fed at least 50 people.

His head nearly rolled off during transport to the venue! Darn momentum! p = mv indeed! I had to "decapitate" him temporarily while stopped at a red light for the rest of the journey. Rest assured that he made it to the party safely and was reassembled without incident :)
